Our beginnings: The Powiatowy Zespół Placówek Oświatowo - Wychowawczych w Wejherowie began to function in September of 2007. It was created by merging of various educational institutions from around the Kashubian Tricity.

It includes three separate institutions - PZPOW Wejherowo (formerly Ognisko Pracy Pozaszkolnej Wejherowo), PZPOW Rumia (formerly Ognisko Pracy Pozaszkolnej Rumia) County Interschool Sports Centre in Wejherowo and extra-curricular activity circles from Reda. From the very beginning, Andrzej Byczkowsk has been our Director, and since september 2009 Mariola Błaszczuk is the Deputy Director for Cultural Affairs. The Sport Department is under jurisdiction of Bartłomiej Woźniak. PZPOW in Wejherowie is the educational institution entered into register of Extracurricular Education Establishments of the Board of Education in Gdańsk. We are engaged in training and education in the areas of a broadly defined culture and sport. We focus on developing the skills and interests in children and youth. By participating in activities organized by us, they can gain knowledge, new skills and broaden their horizons, which will be useful not only in the subsequent stages of education but also in everyday life.

Our activity: PZPOW promotes, in entirety of Pomeranian Voivodeship and especially in the area of Kashubian Tricity; the wide definition of cultural and sport activities. Conducts special interests courses , organizes diverse cultural events like, among others: meetings with artists, film screenings, theatre performances, as well as participation in the International Youth Exchange programs. Also organized are many competitions including arts, literature, vocal and dance varieties. Largest of those include: Pomeranian Literary and Art Contest "Gwiazdka Tuż... Tuż..."("christmas is coming") District Art Competition - Photography and Film - "Human Rights", Review of Vocal Talents or "Wejherowo County through Photographer's Eye" contest) and also the competition in many areas of sports (School Youth Olympics, Gimnazjada or Licealiada).

Thanks to the cooperation of many teachers from different schools in Rumia, Reda and Wejherowo along with PZPOW's own culture animators, several dozen special interest groups and sports sections has been created. Our classes are attended by children and youth of school age. They have won many awards and competitions of county, provincial, national, and even international level.

Groups operating under the auspices of PZPOW Wejherowo include: Vocal Studio, Theatre Circle, Gallery of Young Artists, IT-phothography Circle, art workshops FormART, Circle of Cinema and Television and several other groups working in Rumia and Reda.

It should be noted that participation in all activities conducted by our Outpost is free, and so are the materials used by the youth.
